Medieval mythical beast mount. Circa, 13th century AD. Copper-alloy, 44mm x 40mm, 15.6g. A decorative mount in the form of a lion facing left (statant), with all four paws on the ground, its head turned looking back with its tail looping up and the tip being held in the jaws. Most likely a casket or processional cross mount.
